Running a live session

Open your admin link on a second screen, a laptop facing you, or a projector, while your survey link is out with respondents. Results update on their own as answers arrive; there's nothing to refresh.

What the dashboard shows

Each question gets its own results panel: response counts for multiple choice, a distribution for rating, and every submission listed for free text. A "Live" indicator at the top confirms the page is receiving updates as they happen.

If the live feed drops

Every so often a single admin tab's connection reconnects on its own, and you'll see a brief "Reconnecting" status while it does. Nothing submitted during that gap is lost: an answer is saved the moment a respondent hits Submit, whether or not any dashboard is watching. Only the live view of it pauses. Ending the session

When you're done taking answers, close the survey from the same dashboard. Respondents who still have the link open will see it's closed the next time they try to submit, and nothing they already sent is affected. See closing and reopening a survey for what reopening does and doesn't undo.

How long you have

A free survey collects answers for 7 days from when it was created, live session or not, so a session run on day 6 has a narrower window left than one run on day 1. See the 7-day free window for the exact rule.

Watching from more than one device

You can open the same admin link on more than one device or tab at once, and each gets its own live connection: co-presenters can watch from separate laptops with no setup beyond having the link.

Before the room shows up

Open your own survey link in a separate tab and submit a test answer before your session starts. That confirms both links work and shows you a response actually landing on the dashboard. The test response counts the same as anyone else's, so send it before you care about a clean number rather than after.

Running it during a talk

Put the survey link or its QR code on a slide before you open the dashboard, so the room can start answering while you're still setting up your own screen. Watching the response count climb in real time is usually the whole point of doing this live rather than sending the link out afterward.
