What is free

Running a poll on rifts.to is free, and it stays free. Make a survey, share it, and read the answers as they come in, all with no account, no card, and no cap on how many people respond.

What's included at no cost

• Sharing by link or QR code.
• No signup for you, or for the people answering your survey.
• A page of your own at rifts.to/u/yourname, once you sign in, listing the polls you pick.

None of this is a trial or a taste of something bigger. It's the whole product, running with no account attached.

The one limit on a free survey

A free survey stops taking new answers 7 days after you create it. The answers it already collected aren't deleted and stay fully readable from your admin link; the 7-day window only affects whether it can accept anything new, not what happens to what it already has. See the 7-day free window for the exact rule. Signing in and creating an account doesn't remove this limit by itself, since accounts are free too, same as everything above.

What actually costs money

The line rifts.to draws is between running a poll and keeping it. An anonymous, one-off poll is free by design, because that covers most of what most people need: a show of hands during a talk, a quick read on a room, a one-time question. A subscription adds persistence around that: surveys that never expire, downloading every response as a spreadsheet, trends across everything you've run, your own colors and your own custom links, and collaborators on a survey. It's also what lets code, including Claude through the MCP connector, create and read your surveys on your behalf.

If you only ever need to ask a question once and read the answers, you likely won't need to pay for anything. If you run polls often enough that losing one to the 7-day window is a real cost, that's the point where a subscription starts making sense. An account isn't the paid tier

Signing in is worth doing early even if you never intend to pay for anything. An account is where your admin links actually live, so a survey you made stays findable on your account page instead of depending on a browser tab staying open.
