Poll Everywhere pioneered the "text to respond" polling format and popularized it in higher education. Its free plan, Intro, allows 40 responses per poll. That is enough for a seminar, and not for a college lecture, a company all-hands or most professional events. Anything bigger needs a paid plan, starting at $108 a year for education and $120 a year for business.
rifts.to has no cap on respondents. The 41st response, the 410th and the 4,100th all work the same way and cost nothing. What the free plan limits is time: a free survey takes answers for 7 days after you create it, and the answers it collected stay readable after that.
